We are committed to the purpose of the robot business. The purpose, our core values and code of conducst of the Robot Business Division.

Purpose – Our raison d’être
Unlocking Human Ingenuity
to Create Robotics
that Enrich the Future
A purpose sourced from our commitment to help shape the future by developing robotics that enrich the world
As pioneers in industrial robotics, we have been developing innovative technology since 1968. Our technical expertise has enabled us to contribute to various industrial fields while expanding our product portfolio to include technology that impacts society.
As a fully integrated robot manufacturer, we are committed to providing innovative and safe technology that enriches life people’s lives.
“Contributing to the nation—to society—through expertise,” -Shozo Kawasaki, Founder of Kawasaki
Since the inception of Kawasaki, we have tackled societal challenges by creating products featuring state-of-the-art technology. Though our products and services have changed throughout time, our commitment to enriching life by supplying innovative technology has remained the same.
We are expanding beyond industrial automation by enabling our robotic solutions to solve societal challenges and meet growing needs in industries such as healthcare and infrastructure. With much determination, we will continue to innovate and develop robotics with which humans can cooperate to build a more sustainable world.

We continue to deliver proposals passionately based on technical expertise and creativity.
Making the future a reality in two domains
■Industrial Robots
Kawasaki-Unimate, the first industrial robot manufactured domestically in Japan, was introduced to perform automotive welding applications and later painting applications. The aim was to reduce “kitsui” (hard), “kitanai” (dirty), and “kiken” (dangerous) tasks in Japanese manufacturing processes. With the subsequent development of articulated robots and the shift from hydraulic to electric drive systems, new high-speed and high-precision robots were put into operation, contributing to the mass production of automobiles.
We also have a history of providing solutions to industries that have never used robots. One such example is the semiconductor industry; we conducted the development and commercialization of wafer-handling robots to enable rapid mass production. The latter, in combination with excellent customer service, this has made us the world leader in robot manufacturing for the semiconductor industry.
We continue to work for the benefit of society by expanding our robot lineup and application fields, from collaborative robots to remote control technology to and robotics for the logistics industry. We aim to create a safe and connected future where robots can help people live enriched lives.

■ Social Robot
We apply the robot technology we have cultivated in industrial robotics to address various social issues. Examples of our work include the hinotori™ Surgical Robot System, which reduces the stress on medical staff and patients in the healthcare field, and the Nyokkey service robot platform, which addresses labor shortages in various areas. We will continue to develop robots for deployment in new applications & industries.
hinotori™ Surgical Robot System
Japan’s first surgical robot system, hinotori™, provides support for laparoscopic surgery, which requires a high level of skill. Using a surgical robot system reduces the stress on the patient’s body. Communication technology is in development to enable remote surgery using the hinotori™.

Nyokkey Service Robot Platform
Nyokkey collaborates with people, moving like a human and performing tasks with two arms. Through application uses such as serving meals and clearing dishes in restaurants, supporting commercial cleaning services, and monitoring care facilities, this robot will help minimize the pain of labor shortages.

We are ready.
There have been challenges in the past, and the road ahead will never be smooth.
We will work to improve everyday life to create an enriched world full of creativity.
The latter is a future we strive for.
As we move forward, we can face any challenge and develop innovative solutions by believing in our potential and embracing positivity.
Our commitment is to achieve a society where people’s lives are enriched.
