The humanoid robot Kaleido9 participated in the OIMACHI TRACKS Grand Opening Ceremony held in Shinagawa Ward, Tokyo, on Saturday 28 March 2026, as a ribbon-cutting assistant.
OIMACHI TRACKS was connected via a live link to TAKANAWA GATEWAY CITY, which held its Phase I grand opening on the same day, and the opening ceremony was held simultaneously at the two locations. The two locations are positioned as “advanced areas where innovations in urban living are born”, and Kaleido9 was used as part of an initiative to create a sense of the city’s future. At the Oimachi site, Kaleido9 worked with the Oimachi Station Manager to support the ribbon-cutting ceremony.
The ceremony provided an opportunity to demonstrate how humanoid robots will work with people in the future to support their daily lives.
